YOGA FOR YOUR MIND, BODY & SPIRIT
What is Yin? Yin Yoga is based on the Taoist concept of yin and yang, opposite and complementary principles in nature. Yin is the stable, unmoving, hidden aspect of things & yang is the changing, moving, revealing aspect. There are many yin-yang polarities include cold-hot, down-up, calm-excited. In our body connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, fascia) are yin, while muscles and blood are yang. Yin Yoga is a series of long-held, passive floor poses that are held for up to five minutes. Yin Yoga is for everyone and especially nice if you are tired, over-stimulated, your energy is erratic, your mind overactive, you need a wonderful stretch for release or a space for your mind and body to enjoy some stillness.
What is Hatha? Hatha is a gentle, basic yoga class with minimal flow between poses. Hatha is a slower-paced stretching-focused class with some basic pranayama breathing exercises and a meditation at the end. Hatha classes are a great place to work on your alignment, learn relaxation techniques, and become comfortable doing yoga while building strength and flexibility. What is Vinyasa? Vinyasa Yoga is a branch from Hatha Yoga, and the postures flow with the breath like Hatha. Based on the Ashtanga practice, which is powerful and regimental in itself, this form of yoga can be challenging for beginners.
What is Yoga Nidra? Yoga Nidra isan ancient technique used by yogis. It is thousands of years old and means "yogic sleep". Yoga Nidra a unique marriage of science and spirit, combining alert awareness and deepest relaxation.
